Celebrating the Men in Our Lives!

well dressed men with drinks and cigars

June is Men's Health Awareness month and as we celebrate our Dads (and grads) I wanted to use this month's newsletter to share with you about how men can suffer from hormone deficiency as well. Sometimes we refer to it as "Andropause" to help associate it with the more familiar women's version of hormone deficiency, "menopause". Essentially, it is low testosterone in men. Do any of these symptoms sound familiar to the men in your life? Fatigue, memory loss, poor focus, depression/anxiety, low motivation, irritability, decreased muscle tone and strength, weight gain, low libido, etc.? Well, think "Low Testosterone". Even more consequential is that low testosterone also increases the risk of other medical conditions including diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

In the next section, you can find out more about replacing testosterone naturally, to help improve the overall quality and vitality of the men in your life. For my male patients, don't keep the good information to yourself. Share with your friends and help them get on the road to feeling great again also!

A Man's version of Menopause..."Andropause" or Low Testosterone

Testosterone is classified a steroid hormone in the Androgen group. The decline of testosterone is known as Andropause, sometimes referred to as the male version of Menopause.‚Äč

Beginning at 30, a man’s body makes less and less testosterone and around 40-55 the levels drop dramatically.
