The Month of Love Yourself a Little More

Greetings to all,

Wow, I can NOT believe we are already in February! Where did January go? 

As we consider this month where the topic of LOVE peeks its head in so many different ways, remember that there are many types of love. Think about LOVE as ACTION, a verb, to be specific. The kind of love I am speaking about is not the romantic "eros" love, nor the brotherly "philo" love, but rather LOVE that comes from the heart, where it is poured out by the One Who IS LOVE. It is a decision, an act of the will, a deliberate choice. When this kind of love is exercised, it is hard to not "melt" the heart.

I try my best in my practice (and teach the medical students to do the same) to simply treat others as I would desire to be treated. That seems to cover the bases pretty well. Am I perfect? who is? But I do, and encourage you to do the same -  choose to love, when it is hard, inconvenient, when you feel they "don't deserve it" or when you are not being treated in a loving way. That's power and freedom. 

And don't forget to put YOU on your list of ones to LOVE!! YOU DESERVE IT!
