Skin Resurfacing Q & A

Will this treatment work for me?

Venus Versa™ skin resurfacing treatments use technology that is safe for all skin types and tones. The ideal candidate is anyone who shows signs of skin damage, including deep wrinkles, scars, visible pores, stretch marks, and/or anything else that affects the skin’s texture.

There may be safety reasons that limit your treatments and we ask that you first schedule a consultation before booking your treatment sessions.

How many sessions will I need to see results?

Most patients receive three treatments per area with each treatment being done four weeks apart. The exact number of treatments will depend on the individual person and the area being treated.

How long does the treatment last and is it painful?

Each treatment session lasts 15-30 minutes depending on the area being treated. Venus Versa™ skin resurfacing treatments may be slightly uncomfortable, but not painful. You’ll feel intense heat, similar to the feeling of sunburn, and your face will look red post treatment.

Is there downtime after the treatment?

For 24 hours, you will not be allowed to apply or rub anything on your skin, including water or sweat (so no hot yoga or any other exercise that will make you perspire). After 24 hours, you may put on makeup and resume your regular skin care routine. You should avoid rigorous exercise, hot baths and massages on the treatment area for the the first two days after your session. Remember to wear sunscreen regularly (at least SPF 30) and avoid tanning.

How long will the results last and are they permanent?

After your final treatment, your results will continue to improve over time due to the collagen boost that is a result of the treatment. However, one touch-up session may be needed approximately every six months, depending on how the skin responds.
